Code of Ethics

Our purpose is to encourage the use of the Society’s Code of Ethics, which promotes the highest professional standards for Compliance Certifiers of all authorisations from Worksafe NZ. The HSPNZ Code of Ethics is a statement of abiding principles supported by explanations that address changing journalistic practices. It is not a set of rules, rather a guide that encourages all who engage in compliance certification to take responsibility and to act respectfully. The code should be read as a whole; individual principles should not be taken out of context.

The HSPNZ Code of Ethics is issued under the authority of the Constitution of the Hazardous Substances Professionals New Zealand Incorporation (the legal name for HSPNZ) and is binding on all members of the Society. HSPNZ membership provides greater assurance and trust to clients and the public. If an HSPNZ member breaches the Code of Ethics, their client or a HSPNZ member have the right to complain to HSPNZ who have a process for dealing with complaints.
